Fantasy Faire - Last Day!

Cupcakes, cupcakes. If you haven't been to the Fantasy Faire yet, today is your last chance! I know this is a freebie blog, but I'm going to show you some great finds you can get for a great price at the Fantasy Faire! If this is the first time you've heard about it, the Fantasy Faire is a RFL event that is benefiting the American Cancer Society. Each store has RFL vendor items for sale. Some are $500L, some are more, some are less. The RFL vendor items' proceeds go to the ACS. If you're going to spend money, make your lindens count for this great cause.

Where It's Okay To Be A Piggy.

Pig. To me, when I hear that word, mouth-watering visions of sausage and bacon flood my mind (and saliva fills my mouth). However, Pig is no longer just the other white meat - it's a store in Second Life. Yes, the store looks like it was taken out of Cold War era USSR or some other Eastern European country behind the Iron Curtain...and yes...you aren't seeing things. There are pigs outside of the store (and attempting to mount a motorcycle at + blacklisted + which is directly across from Pig). Yes, there is an armed swine in the courtyard waving a semi-automatic weapon (I think) while wearing a Che Guevara beret with a certain infamous quote from a Martin Scorcese movie. All of this and more is just more of a reason to check it out. If the pigs didn't grab you, then the clothing will.



This is something I haven't seen before in SL. Guayaberas. If you don't know what a guyabera is, just look at the pic above. My grandfather wears these things like it's going out of fashion. He wears them to the movies, to church, out to eat, when he goes to get a haircut, etc. It's an all-purpose bad ass Mexican shirt, really. They're very comfortable and they can be a little on the expensive side ($70USD+). Last year for his birthday I got him two more guyaberas to add to his collection and he was so happy. I have one irl in a deep violet color that I still wear on occasion (like during Fiesta Week which happens to be going on in my hometown of San Antonio right now). Anyway, I hadn't seen these anywhere in SL until I popped over to Pig for $50L Friday and saw that Miss Apatia put out a cotton candy pink one for free (she was celebrating Pink Shirt Day for anti-bullying). It's for men and women. I loved it and wanted to get it in different colors. Unfortunately, this shocking pink version was the only one I saw at her store...until one of my friends told me that if I joined the Purveyors of Accidental Love group, I could score the guyabera in eggshell. The group gives out random free gifts, so I'd suggest staying in the group instead of joining, grabbing the freebie, and leaving. As I've said before with the subscribo thingies, these creators work too hard for that kind of treatment.




While I was wandering around her store looking for more guyaberas, I found Pig's Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift, this classy bikini that shows off Tuli's group gift skin's awesome butt cleavage! The Tuli group ($250L to join) gets the first sneak peaks of Tuli's newest releases. This lovely skin is called 'Sayuri' and it will be out soon. I can't wait!

Introducing Elle

If you're a member of the Belleza in-world group ($250L joining fee), you *might* have noticed that Mr. Tricky Boucher gave us an introduction to his newest line, Elle. As with his previous lines, Jesse & Alyson, Elle is gorgeous. You may have noticed that there is a difference between this line and his previous ones: he has made a darker skin, mocha. It's absolutely lovely!

Yes, we are in the greenest month of the year. Scientific Pumpkin research shows that people wear and eat the most green stuff in the month of March. With that said, *G Field* is only making us want to wear more green clothing by egging us on with it's latest subscribo group gift, a beautiful strapless green dress!

Frugal Fashionista: Clothing Fair on a Budget

Hello mi amorcitas! Yes, that lovely time is upon us once more: Clothing Fair! I know you all want to help raise money for the American Cancer Society by attending! Unfortunately for some, they want to participate but are limited on the Lindens. Not to fear! You can find some really cute stuff that won't make you break the bank! This morning, I went snooping around the eight (YES, EIGHT!!) sims for CF10 and found some cute free gifts and some items that won't leave you hurting for cash.

*Sari's* is an interesting store that has a spot on the New Delhi sim at CF10. Specializing in boho clothing with a strong Eastern flair, I felt like a kid in a candy store, snatching up all of the goodies that owner Sari Telling set out. When one puts on clothing from *Sari's*, you can help but feel like you're one of those people who, without prior warning, dropped out of college and ran off to India to go "find yourself" while bumming around on one of the many gorgeous beaches in Goa.

The skirt & top are $65L each. Aren't they cute? The necklace & bracelets are also available at CF10 and are a staggering $10L a pop. I'm also wearing a bindi from her pack of five bindis for $10L (available at CF10).

At CF10, *Sari's* also has out a cute gift, this Bollywood dress!

The cute dress below is from her RFL vendor (meaning that the proceeds go towards the American Cancer Society!) and it's only $75L.

Finally, I present to you one of Zaara's RFL vendor offerings (which is in the New Delhi sim as well): this cute diamond top in pink for $75L. I love Miss Zaara's clothing, so I didn't even hesitate to snatch it up! :)

Okay, okay. So I am kinda jamming out to old skool AC/DC as I write this post. It kinda fits, since Dutch Touch, LeLutka, *G Field* AND *pop feel* shook me up with some great presents! These very generous stores have a history of making us feel special, what with their great gifts.

Dutch Touch has some lovely skins and casual apparel. They're also dabbling in lingerie again, yay! If you're in their subscribo group, you probably got this cute lingerie set! If not, join up (but PLEASE do not join then leave right away. That's not cool or fair to the designer who spent time and money to make this gift)!

*G Field* also sent out a great gift to their s-o-m'ers -- this beautiful light green chiffon top! They have other colors for sale (go get 'em!), but this pretty springy green color is awesome!

The skins I'm wearing are the latest group gift from LeLutka and are from the newest line, Ife. The skins come in three tones and hairbases for the corresponding brow colors.

The necklace I'm wearing in all the pics is a new release from Lolapop! To celebrate the new main store opening, everything in the store is 50% off, so this week, the necklace is $63L!

I camped at *pop feel* for either 20 or 25 minutes (can't remember...it's late and I have a headache) for this pretty camisole in one of the phone booths. I love it!

Oh Hai, Pretty Eyes!

Yes, it's me. I decided to make a sporadic appearance! I have a few cute things to show you guys!

First up, I camped out in two phone booths at *pop feel* (15 mins a piece) and was rewarded with this leopard bustier AND then this brown cut-down-to-there blouse that I'm wearing over it. I'm also wearing this pretty necklace from Kunglers that was given out by Modavia for reaching 20,000 members of their subscribo. It's also because Kunglers is now going to have a jewelry line, so they wanted everyone to get a taste of what they're going to have to offer!

I have been on an eye kick as of late. I usually wear Lano Ling's Poetic Colors eyes or KMAD eyes, but I also had a few pairs of Shine eyes in my inventory that I had forgotten about. I know, bad Pumpkin! Anyway, when I tried them on (as I was trying on my new Exile hair -- Lucia -- shown), I decided to go and get some more. Brandy Rasmuson, the tamale-lovin' lady behind Shine, has a real talent for making these pretty, pretty eyes! They're a steal at $50L a pair, but being the generous lady she is, she has some freebies out. The eyes I'm wearing are her Mardi Gras eyes, which are one of the freebies. If you love these, I strongly suggest checking out her other offerings! You won't be disappointed.

What a brilliant shade of red, you'll surely add a splash of color wherever you go. Belleza owner/designer Tricky Boucher has given his groupies a wonderful gift: skins! Not just for the ladies, mind you. There's men's skin in there as well. Tricky always makes such beautiful skins with wonderful details. I love the light freckles that are gingerly sprinkled on the cheeks and nose of 'Alyson', the women's gift skin, which is also a preview. It comes in three colors, which you can see in the picture below.

Belleza has a $250L joining fee. Well worth it, in my opinion, and you definitely won't want to leave the group!

Hello Cupcakes! No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. It's me, Pumpkin. I took a bit of time off, I was mostly posting on my personal blog, but I am back. The rush of recent gifts inspired me to do a post. Maybe I'll continue to get inspired!

As you all are probably aware, it is the holiday season. What with Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Hijra, content creators from around the grid are going all out with the giving!

::Riddle:: recently sent out two great group gifts to members of it's subscribo: a sweater dress and a cool light green jacket. At the moment, the store is still on Valentines Island, but it will soon be moving to it's own sim, which owner and designer Chrystina Noel is very excited about.

Also sending out group gifts via subscribo is Shag, which gave us the cool "Chrissy Snow" hair (named after Suzanne Somer's character in "Three's Company") in red and white (not shown). Included are the cute snowflake attachments.

Miss Tuli Asturias (of Tuli) gave members of her in-world group a set of gorgeous skins in seven (SEVEN!!!!) tones with three different eyebrow options (black, brown, light [blonde]). I'm wearing them in all of the pictures in this post. No, you can't get the skins at her store, which is in the sky while the sim is being rebuilt. You need to join her in-world group ($250L --- well worth it!). The skins are lovely!

Below is the cool ::Riddle:: coat that I previously mentioned. I'm also wearing the group gift from 69. The in-world group members ($300L to join) received a fatpack of this beautiful hair! What I'm not showing is that it also comes with mufflers, a Santa hat and a Rudolph red nose, which you can remove. Very cute!

The jewelry I'm wearing comes from a relatively new store called Haus of Darcy (aka H.o.D.). Creator and owner Aydan Darcy has some very cute and creative jewelry pieces in her new store. Also, right now she is having a 12 Days of Christmas special going on for her in-world group members. If you join her group (which is free), you can buy her special gifts, under the Christmas tree, for a steal --- $25L.

Below, I'm wearing her 'Starlight, Starbright' necklace and her 'Edible Christmas Lights', both of which are $25L and under her Christmas tree.

Below, is a group gift for $25L. Many people know of the 'less than three' sign. Miss Aydan took the maths and made them into a necklace. What's cool is that there are six pieces all together: two complete 'less than three' necklaces, two 'less than' necklaces and two '3' necklaces, all of which come in silver and black. Being that they're transferrable (and they look pretty unisex since they are on a black leather strand), they make a great gift to give to your significant other. This necklace was recently released, but already I have seen at least one store blatantly using her design and passing it off as their own. It's a shame that people resort to taking the design of a hardworking new creator.

I should also mention that I'm wearing the H.o.D. subscribo gift earrings (named 'Bodiqua' --- I love it!) that you get when you join up. As I've asked before, please do not join the subscribo just for the gifts and then unsubscribe. Not only is this rude to the creators, who work hard on their gifts, but it also helps prove to the anti-freebie people that freebie lovers are selfish.

Going back to the coat...it also looks great without a shirt underneath. Just sayin'.
