The title of this blog is pretty much to the point! A few gifts went out today that made me go "WOW!" and I had to blog them!

Otaku Designs' in-world group gave out a group gift for Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which many people mistakenly think is a macabre holiday celebrated by Mexicans and many other hispanics living in North and South America. It's actually a wonderful day where people don't mourn the passing of loved ones, we celebrate their life. So, in keeping with that spirit (no pun intended), Otaku Designs gave out a traditional altar to help you celebrate life by raising the dead!

The altar comes with traditional sugar skulls, a Mexican sarape (or "serape" -- the colorful blanket -- as it's also known in the US), flowers, pan dulce (sweet bread), a pillow for kneeling to pay your respects and candles. If you're not in the group, you can also purchase it in the store, so don't worry.

Maitreya sent out a pair of their uber popular SoHo boot series in Halloween colors orange and black, called "Pumpkin". I love Maitreya!! :-P They've also released some really pretty new hair, but they're not free. Still, they are worth parting with Lindens for!

You can now bob for apples at Evie's closet. Each apple has a prize, like the witch outfit and fairy outfit I show here. Every 3 minutes you get a new chance to stick your head in the tub and catch an apple. Also, new flats from 50 flats at alot of store locations, lol! When I picked up the ones from the festival at Albero, I found a cute shirt from sen*2 for 1L, only a few booths further. Go me huh? The pants that I'm wearing are part of the 50L friday thingy! Here Little Fishy, fishy...

I went wandering around today. What was I looking for, you ask? Nothing in particular. Did I get anything good, you ask? Yes, yes I did. Let me show you!


My first stop was to Tuli. She sent a notice yesterday about new pick rewards skins available this month. Having the store in my picks, I jumped over and scooped them up. "Hope" in onyx, with it's smokey eyes is lovely, of course. You get five tones with four colored eyebrow options. I'm wearing the red option in all tones below. Next, I went to Little Fish, where I scored this pretty yellow Chinese-style dress from one of the lucky boards. Finally, I puttered over to Lazy Places to grab Miss Sakuradawn Lei's Demonology Hunt gift, which are these cute hooves.

Every so often, I like to change things up on my posts. Today, I'm going to show some clothing for the boys in our lives. As I'm sure many of you know, the grid can be a scary and intimidating place for a man who wants to look for clothing. Guys pretty much get the short end of the stick when it comes to high quality clothing, much less the cheapies and freebies.


First up is a new store called + blacklisted + on the new Starlust sim, Horst. The shirts are put together very nicely using great textures. You can tell the shirts had a lot of blood, sweat and tears (i.e. effort) put into them. To celebrate their grand opening, there is a dollarbie inside of the store!



The middle one is $1L!


Pig is a store that sells, not only cute feminine clothes, but also unisex and men's clothing. Pig's style is fun, fresh, and breaks away from the norm. Their clothes aren't for everyone, but if you want something that'll have people asking, "where'd you get that?" then this is your place.

While all of the freebies and dollarbies are great, let's not forget to browse around the stores. So many people complain about the 'smash & grab' mentality that some accuse freebie blogs of feeding. Hello Candy!
